What makes a Hideaway Hut?

A Hideaway Hut is simply what we call a Shepherds Hut with a door on the end wall, as opposed to a Retreat Hut, which has a door on the side. By having a door on the side, it creates a cosier, more private space, which really compliments personal huts with simpler fit outs.​ They make ideal writers dens, garden rooms and places to just relax with a good book.

This iconic and cosy model is based on the classic Shepherd's Hut design and makes an ideal garden office or snug retreat. The traditional layout of a stable door on the end makes for a cosy, intimate space, whilst light can be let in by windows on either side and the rear end. We even had the pleasure to deliver one of these Shepherds Huts to actress Elizabeth Hurley over Christmas in 2013, as well as one to award winning author Andrew Clover the year after, and Radio 4 Presenter Libby Purves the year after that!

The size, shape and position of the windows can all be changed to take advantage of a stunning view or suit your personal taste!
