Timberpad Anderson Shelter Kits
|
As quintessentially British as it is classic, the Anderson Shelter was a common sight during the Blitz- a sturdy, simply shelter in the garden, for the whole family to take shelter in the event of a bombing raid. As these raids often took place at night in the cover of darkness, these shelters were almost always designed for an overnight stay complete with a few essential provisions and a couple of beds.
Inspired by these ingenious creations, we have re-created the Anderson Shelter in our own unique way- A peacetime shelter perfect as a bunkhouse for campers, a kids playhouse or even a truly retro garden shelter. Our Anderson Shelters are for sale as DIY Kits (With instructions included!) in a range of sizes, but additionally we are able to deliver them fully assembled or even come and build them in your garden! Our range spans from simple, lightweight shelters which are true to the originals, to fully insulated models which can be used all year round. Like our Shepherds Huts, we also offer a range of extra features- From beds, storage, wood burning stoves, lighting, sedum roofs and even accessory crates packed full of vintage memorabilia to add to the authenticity- and don't forget the sandbags! |
Unfortunately, we can't guarantee that these shelters will save your life in an actual air raid. This is partly because bombs these days are probably a lot more explody than they were during WW2, and also because none of us have volunteered to test them against actual bombs yet. Also, actual bombs are really difficult to get hold of. And expensive.
