One of our last creations was this garden office build for a busy client who works from home in Salhouse. It was built to serve as an office during the day, but in the evenings become a cosy social space.
With a curved oak desk, filing drawers and a lower set window, allowing a pleasant view whilst working, on one end, the other end of the hut features a wood burning stove and a series of "Seat-stores" a handy contraption devised by the Customer and created by our skilled team of craftsmen.
These are simply a series of timber storage cabinets for files which push together to form a day bed or a series of separate seats (with felt pads underneath so not to scratch the floor)- Pictures will be added soon.
It just goes to show, when we say our designs are bespoke we mean it! Any idea from the client or quirky solution is met with a huge enthusiasm to create something new and always adds a new string to our bow.
If you work from home and want a garden office with minimal planning but a huge range of possible fit outs, then get in touch with our friendly team on 01603 397777 and we'll design you something to match.
Imagining stepping out of your Hut and into the dappled shade of your very own babbling brook. That's now a reality for a lucky customer in Essex, who fell in love with one of our existing huts and asked for it to be re-fitted into a combined garden office and summer retreat.
If only everyone could just pop out and have a swim, dry off in the sun, then get back in the hut to resume work!
If you like to work from home or you've got a lovely bit of land you want to make the most of, get in touch with us and ask us to design you a shepherds hut!
It's here! After a whole year of waiting, the Royal Norfolk Show is back in all it's glory. Held at The Norfolk Showground, this huge 2 day event attracts over one hundred thousand visitors every year and hosts a range of events, stands and attractions.
This year we are going to be exhibiting with our newest Wild Rover Shepherds Hut. With it's towable Ifor Williams Trailer, delivery was much quicker than last year!
Guests at the event will be welcome to look inside, relax and feel the quality of our huts. We'll also be breaking out the Pimms and barbeque once the sun goes down, so free free to join us then as well!
Like last year, we've supplied the events coordinator Sonia Bell and her team with a traditional, etal-wheeled Shepherds Hut as an events office- So we can show you both types!
After an intense week at the workshop with the full team, we're all chuffed for the completion of our latest Wild Rover! Finished in time for the Royal Norfolk Show, this is our unique, mobile Shepherds Hut which was built on a suspended, towable Ifor Williams chassis, but with our classic Shepherds Hut on top.
But what does the inside look like? If you want to see our first reveal to the public then come along to the show where we'll be exhibiting the Wild Rover. We'll even be pouring Pimms from 2 0'clock in the afternoon and whipping out the acoustic guitar after sunset so come along and join us!
On Friday we delivered our latest Retreat hut to the exquisite 15th Century country house Oxburgh Hall in Norfolk. This was most cathartic, as Chief Combobulator Wong still has harrowing memories of getting stuck inside Oxburgh Hall's "Priest-hole" as a fat child.
The stately manor is an iconic part of Norfolk, drawing in thousands of visitors a month. Our hut sits outside the walls, resplendent in the National Trust's own colours, as a recruitment hut and features a custom built oak desk with the National Trust logo inlaid, overhead shelving, lights and a sofa with a built in kick heater.
As the property is of course a listed building, the Shepherds Hut made an ideal solution for a low-impact, planning-friendly and ultimately movable office.
We've started to put together Faith, our newest Shepherds Hut which will be the new office for Norfolk based charity The Benjamin Foundation, who work to help young people towards a better future.
She's not much to look at yet, but over the next couple of weeks you'll see a transformation from the bare timber frame into a beautiful fully fledged hut!
Our huts are made from responsibly sourced timber and have handy features such as breather membranes (See right), which helps the timber stay dry and condensation free, meaning that the hut will last for decades.
The Benjamin Foundation will be holding an official unveiling ceremony in mid April- More news as the plot thickens!
Chief Combobulator Wong. While the rest of the team gallivant and build Shepherds Huts, I sit here and combobulate.
