What makes a Retreat Hut?
A Retreat Hut is simply what we call a Shepherds Hut with a door on the side wall, as opposed to a Hideaway Hut, which has a door on the end. By having a door on the side, it really opens up the hut and allows for a more efficient use of space. This makes it ideal for huts with a more extensive fit out.

We can provide a nearly endless range of options for your hut. Whether it's corrugated tin cladding or painted timber, a painted or wallpapered interior, solid oak or heated engineered floors, a fixed or traditional turning axle, French doors or single doors, single, double, bunk or wall beds and more, wood, coal or gas burners, windows of varying sizes, fold out or solid desks, bookshelves, wardrobes, built-in TVS, canopies, the list really does go on. Whatever your ideal fit out, just let us know and we'll design it.

The Retreat style Shepherds Hut has our popular side door layout, making it an open and welcoming space which makes it a great summer house, office, guest room or studio.
We can build these in a range of sizes with anything from a stable door for privacy to glazed double French doors or even sliding doors to let the light flood in! This, with an assortment of windows will create a bright, airy space.
The size, shape and position of these can all be changed to take advantage of a stunning view or suit your personal taste! Many of our Shepherds Huts, such as the Bunkee or the Boutique Glamper, are based on the Retreat design.
These Shepherds Huts are for sale and made to order, so if you'd like to buy one or spend a night in one, there are currently Retreat style huts available for viewings and holiday bookings at Whitlingham Broad Campsite near Norwich, Top Farm Camping near Aylsham and Deepdale Backpackers and Camping in the North Norfolk Coast or Wardley Hill in Suffolk.
